Why Psychotherapy?

It's often hard to describe what psychotherapy looks like unless you have experienced it. It looks like a conversation from the outside, but it is a conversation like you may never have had. It's confidential, you are free to express anything you need to, and the focus is only on you. Many people find psychotherapy helpful when they have trouble with:

  • Anxiety or depression
  • Sexual identity and coming out (gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans)
  • Relationships
  • Crisis: health, family, work etc.
  • Death of a loved one
  • Serious illness
  • Life transition: job, relationship, family.
  • Trauma or abuse

Some people have found psychotherapy to be a good place to explore cultural identity in a multi-cultural society. People also seek out psychotherapy because they want direction in their lives, or they are looking to find a more meaningful and satisfying way of living. Sometimes having a non-judgemental listener to tell our story to makes all the difference.
